Patient Engagement
AcademyHealth recognizes that the patient perspective is an important component of health services and health policy research. We encourage submitters to consider and demonstrate how their research is relevant to, inclusive of, and influenced by patients where appropriate.

• Patient Relevance: The abstract addresses the needs and concerns of the patients or communities. Abstracts that are developed or led by patient partners are strongly encouraged.
• Patient Inclusiveness: The abstract or findings being discussed includes the voice of people with lived experience or the experience of care partners, which includes in its co-design, and co-development processes.
• Patient Influence: The abstract was co-designed or co-developed by people with lived experience. Abstracts that have been collaboratively created or led by patients and care partners are strongly encouraged.
