2017 Annual Research Meeting

Instructions and Needed Information for Submitting a Presentation:

  1. Theme

    • Select the theme that best fits your abstract. You may use the theme areas of focus to help select the most appropriate theme.
  2. Title

    • Enter your abstract title in title case. Do not end titles with a period.
    • Enter the submitter's e-mail addresses where correspondence should be sent regarding the submission.
    • Answer any additional questions specific to the call that you are submitting to.
  3. Author

    • Type the lead presenter's name in the provided box.
    • If the author is already in the system, you can select their pre-populated information or update the information from previous years.
    • If the author is not already in the system, you will be prompted to create a new record.
    • You must include information for all fields with a star.
    • To add additional authors, click the 'add new author' button.
    • You can edit the order of the co-authors by using the up and down arrows. The order they appear on the screen is the order they will be listed online.
    • Only one author should be selected as the presenting author.
    • Complete the conflict of interest information for all presenters and authors.
  4. Disclosure

    • Enter the disclosures for every author on the submission.
    • The submitter is responsible for collecting the disclosure information from authors and including it in the submission.
    • If accepted, the opportunity to review and update or correct the disclosure information will be provided.
  5. Abstract Text

    • Enter the text of your abstract (maximum 500 words).
    • Do not remove the pre-populated headings. They do not count toward your word count.
    • Do not include authors' names or references.
    • You may include tables and special characters as desired.
  6. Confirmation

    • Review your submission.
    • You may return to any step of the process by using the left hand navigation bar.
    • You may print your submission at this point.
    • Once your submission is complete, press the 'conclude submission button'.
    • You may return to your submission to review or edit at any point before the January 12th, 2017 deadline using the provided ID and password.
  7. General Instructions

    No names or titles should be included in the abstract text. Names will be automatically hidden during the abstract review process and will be automatically inserted and properly formatted upon publication.

    Presenting authors will be automatically informed of the unique ID numbers and passwords assigned to their abstracts. Abstracts may be viewed and modified at any time between submission and the deadline, using the assigned ID# and password.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS SESSIONS

Individual abstracts are submitted to a theme for consideration for podium/poster presentation or poster presentation only. Abstracts are first considered as part of a podium presentation, then for a poster. Up to four abstracts accepted for podium presentation are grouped according to topic area. Abstracts accepted for poster presentation are displayed as part of their theme group during one of three poster sessions.

CALL FOR INNOVATIONS
New Submissions Closed

Abstracts are submitted to a theme (data, tools, methods, stakeholder engagement, translation, dissemination and implementation) for consideration to be presented in an interactive learning experience that encourages dialogue and the exchange of new methods, resources and tools that advance the field of HSR. The presentations are less formal than other ARM sessions, and the use of nontraditional audience engagement techniques are encouraged.

CALL FOR PANELS ON CRITICAL AND EMERGING ISSUES IN HSR
New Submissions Closed

Critical and Emerging Issues in HSR panel sessions focus on a coherent topic that is considered central to the field of health services research and for which there has been significant progress and/or challenges. These sessions should be submitted by the lead organizer and must include the names and organizations of the panelists. Please note there can be no more than five people on a panel, including the moderator. The 1,000-word overview should include a description of the panel as well as the individual topics each panelist will cover. Individual abstracts are not submitted as part of the proposal.

Call for Panels-on Critical and Emerging Issues in HSR Instructions

CALL FOR POLICY ROUNDTABLES
New Submissions Closed

Policy Roundtables should be submitted by the lead organizer and must include the names and organizations of the panelists. Please note there can be no more than five people on a panel, including the moderator. The 1,000-word overview should include a description of the panel as well as the individual topics each panelist will cover. Individual abstracts are not submitted as part of the roundtable proposal.

CALL FOR RESEARCH PANELS
New Submissions Closed

A research panel overview is submitted to a theme with a minimum of 2 presenters, but no more than 4 (including an optional discussant). Each presenter must have a corresponding abstract. The panel must include also include a session chair. The submission is considered as a whole and accepted or rejected for research panel presentation.

CALL FOR STUDENT POSTERS

Students are encouraged to submit individual abstracts to a theme for consideration for poster presentation. Student posters are considered for the Student Poster Award, which recognizes the outstanding research of a student and the quality of the presentation during the Annual Research Meeting.
